Financial advice can feel opaque from the outside. People are often unsure what they are committing to, what will happen in a first meeting, or how long it takes to put a plan in place. We try to make every stage of the process clear, so you can decide whether it is right for you before you commit to anything.
Below is the journey most clients go through. Some stages run together, some take longer than others, but the overall shape is the same.
Free, no obligation. Around 45 minutes, in person at our Mayfair office or by video call. We talk about your situation, what you are trying to achieve and any specific concerns. No products are mentioned. No recommendations are made. The aim is for both of us to decide whether we are the right fit.
If we agree to go further, we map out your full position. Pensions, investments, savings, debts, property, protection, business interests if relevant. Anything that contributes to the picture. We ask thorough questions because the recommendations later are only as good as the information we start with.
We project your finances forward, year by year, often to age 95 or beyond. The model becomes the backbone of the plan, showing what is possible, where the pressure points are, and what difference different choices make. We test it against scenarios that worry people most: market falls, longer life, higher inflation.
We bring our recommendations to a meeting and walk you through them. You receive a written report covering everything: what we recommend, why, the costs, the risks, and the alternatives we considered. The aim is for you to understand each piece before agreeing to it. Time to think is built into the process.
If you decide to proceed, we do the work. Paperwork, transfers, new arrangements, coordination with your accountant or solicitor where needed. Most of it happens in the background. You receive regular updates so you know where things stand without being buried in detail.
The plan is not a one-off. We meet at least once a year to review where things stand, refresh the cash flow model, and update the plan to reflect changes in your life or in the rules around it. Between reviews, you can call or email any time you have a question or something changes.
From first conversation to the plan being fully in place is typically six to twelve weeks, depending on how complex the situation is and how quickly the various providers respond.
The first conversation is free. The full review and recommendation has a minimum fee of £995, refundable in part or in full if you decide to proceed. After that, ongoing service is charged at 1% per year of investments under our care, with a minimum and a cap that depends on the level of service you choose.
The full breakdown is on our Fees page. We are happy to discuss the likely cost of an engagement at the end of the first conversation, before you commit to anything.
The first meeting is free, with no obligation. We will give you a clear sense of how we can help, what an engagement might look like, and what it would cost.
