Information we hold
When you contact us through this website, by phone or in person, we collect and hold personal information so that we can give you advice and meet our regulatory obligations. This typically includes:
- Your name, contact details and address
- Information about your financial circumstances, goals and plans
- Records of meetings, correspondence and the advice we have given
- Identification documents, where required for anti-money-laundering checks
We hold this information securely, share it only where necessary to provide our services or meet our regulatory obligations, and retain it for as long as required by law and regulation.
Professional contacts and business-to-business marketing
Separately from our advice clients, Aetas Wealth also runs a business-to-business programme contacting solicitors, accountants and other professional advisers about working together, generally in connection with matters such as the pension inheritance tax changes due to take effect from 6 April 2027. Aetas Wealth Limited is the data controller for that programme, and it relies on legitimate interests rather than the basis described above. Marketing under that programme is limited to appropriate corporate recipients: sole traders and unincorporated partnerships are excluded unless we hold valid consent or a valid soft opt-in. If you have received a business-to-business email from us, our professional contacts statement explains why, and how to stop hearing from us.

Legitimate interests and your right to object
For the professional-contact programme, our interest is in developing relevant professional introducer relationships within the recipient and opt-out limits in our professional contacts statement. Regulated advice remains governed by Insight Financial Associates’ applicable privacy information.
Where we rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, we use personal information only for a specific legitimate purpose, where it is necessary and where your interests, rights and freedoms do not override that interest. We consider reasonable expectations, the impact on you and less intrusive ways to achieve the purpose.
You can object on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will stop unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or need the information for legal claims. If you object to direct marketing, we will stop that marketing and related profiling.
Legitimate interests does not replace consent where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require it. Our websites use an opt-in policy for optional analytics. Marketing permissions are assessed separately.
You have the right to object. Contact dataprotection@aetas-wealth.com or use the unsubscribe route in a marketing message.
Privacy and legitimate interests questions
What are legitimate interests?
This is a lawful basis for a specific, necessary use of personal information where the interest is not overridden by your rights and freedoms. This notice explains the purposes for which we use it.
Can I object?
Yes. Contact dataprotection@aetas-wealth.com. An objection to direct marketing stops that marketing and related profiling. For other legitimate interests processing, we assess your objection under the applicable legal rules.
Does legitimate interests permit marketing or analytics without consent?
Legitimate interests does not remove PECR requirements. Our sites use an opt-in policy for optional analytics. Marketing permissions are assessed separately.
Can I contact you with analytics declined?
Yes. Declining optional analytics does not prevent you reading this website or contacting us. External forms and calendars may explain their own necessary technologies.
Does reading the privacy notice mean I consent?
No. The notice explains our practices. Reading it or accepting website terms does not give consent to optional analytics or marketing.
